Bryant downs Merrimack, 3-0, on Friday

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Bryant University field hockey team received goals from three different players as it earned a 3-0 victory over Merrimack on Friday afternoon.

Grayson Green and Lotte Guitink each scored their first-career goals, while Carson Dennis nothced her fourth goal of the year. Marijn Jaarsma posted four saves to earn her fourth career shutout.

KEY MOMENT

  • Green's first-career goal came just 4:06 in and gave the Bulldogs the only goal they would need.         

HOW IT HAPPENED

Bryant got on the board quick on Friday, jumping ahead on Green's goal. Taryn Rauff corraled the ball near midfield and played a beautiful pass to spring Green on a breakaway. Green raced ahead and fired in her first-career goal.

The Bulldogs doubled their lead as they converted in transition. Dennis received the ball and fired a perfect shot into the bottom corner of the cage. Bryant then put the game away as Guitink was able to finish after a scrum in the circle following a penalty corner.

  • Green scored her first-career goal and now has three points on the year.
  • Guitink notched her first-career goal and has four points on the year.
  • Dennis is now second on the team with four goals.
  • Jaarsma posted her first shutout of the year and the fourth of her career.
