Bryant falls to Rider on Sunday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University field hockey team fell to Rider, 4-1, on Sunday afternoon at the Bryant Track & Turf Complex.

KEY MOMENT

  • Bryant was issued two yellow cards four minutes apart in the second quarter and the Broncs were able to score twice in 40 seconds up two players.                

HOW IT HAPPENED

Bryant controlled the game early, scoring just over six minutes into the first quarter. Olivia Clarke carried the ball inside the circle and was able to thread the ball to front of the cage. Ashley Barron was there to tap it home to make it 1-0. 

After Bryant was issued a pair of yellow cards, the Broncs scored twice within 40 seconds in the second quarter. Rider would add single goals in the third and fourth quarter to close out the game.  

BULLDOGS NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • Barron picked up her first goal of the season. 
  • Clarke now has three assists on the season. 
  • Dieneke Hes made five saves in goal.
