Gouws, Rauff named to America East Second Team; Guitink All-Academic

BOSTON -- Bryant University field hockey graduate students Brittany Gouws and Taryn Rauff were named to the America East Second Team, while Lotte Guitink was named to the All-Academic team, the league announced on Wednesday.

Gouws and Rauff become the first players in program history to earn first or second team laurels. Natalie Griffin became the first all-conference pick last year when she was an All-Rookie selection.

Two of the program's all-time greats, Gouws and Rauff helped propel Bryant to an 8-9 overall record and the Bulldogs' first two America East wins in program history in 2023. They combined for 12 goals and 12 assists for 36 points.

Gouws started all 17 games, recording seven goals and four assists for 18 points. She also added three game-winning goals and made four defensive saves. Gouws started her season on a strong note, scoring the game-winning goal in each of the first two games. She recorded a five-point (2g, 1a) game against Stonehill and closed her career with points in each of her final three games. Gouws leaves Bryant with 19 goals, 11 assists and 49 points in 68 career games.

Rauff also started all 17 games, posting five goals and eight assists for 18 points. She made history this fall, scoring the first goal at Bryant's brand new water-based astro turf. Rauff went on to record a point in eight of Bryant's final 10 games of the season. She recorded the game-winning goal against Hofstra and again vs Stanford, Bryant's first-ever America East win. She closes her career tied for second in DI program history in goals (20) and third in points (52) in 72 career games.

Guitink garners All-Academic honors after putting together an incredible career in the classroom and on the field. A 3.91 student, Guitink will graduate with a degree in Psychology. On the field, Guitink started all 17 games, finishing with three goals and seven points. She scored her three goals in a span of two games, notching one at New Hampshire and two more against Maine.
