BASKETBALL'S KONDRATYEV GRABS 13 REBOUNDS FOR TEAM UKRAINE AT FIBA U20 CHAMPIONSHIPS

BRYANT BASKETBALL SOPHOMORE VLAD KONDRATYEV PLAYING IN FIBA UNDER20 EUROPEAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Sophomore Vlad Kondratyev grabbed 13 rebounds in leading Ukraine to a win over Latvia Thursday at the 2010 FIBA U20 World Championships in Croatia.


Bryant University sophomore men’s basketball player Vlad Kondratyev (Nikoayev, Ukraine) is currently a member of the Ukraine national team competing in the FIBA U20 European World Championships in Croatia this month.

Born in Russia but raised in the Ukraine, Kondratyev scored seven points and grabbed 13 rebounds (including 12 defensive boards) in Thursday’s 91-70 win over Latvia. 

He was 3-for-6 shooting from the floor while adding one steal and one blocked shot in 13 minutes of action. 

Kondratyev scored three points and had two rebounds in the team’s 88-76 loss to Greece in the opener Wednesday.  

In his first year at Bryant this past winter, Kondratyev started in 15 games for the Bulldogs and finished second on the team scoring just under nine points per game and averaging 3.1 rebounds per contest.  

The 6-foot-8-inch  forward was second on the team with 22 blocks.  He scored a season-best 20 points against Sacred Heart while adding 16 points on 7-of-15 shooting against Fairleigh Dickinson.
