Bryant hosts Siena in 2K Classic Subregional Championship Saturday at 7 p.m.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Bryant University men's basketball team hosts Siena College in the 2K Classic Smithfield Subregional Championship Game Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at the Chace Athletic Center.

THE SERIES
This is the first-ever meeting between the Bulldogs and the Saints.

HOW THEY GOT HERE
The Bulldogs advance to Saturday's title bout after a 71-58 victory over Prairie View A&M Friday evening. Senior point guard Shane McLaughlin ran the offense, dishing out a Division I program-record 14 assists while sophomore forward Gus Riley posted a career- and game-high 18 points off 8-of-12 shooting from the field. The Bulldogs shot better than 50 percent for the first time in 2015-16 in the win.

The Saints move into the Championship round following a 76-62 victory over Radford in Friday's 4:00 p.m. matchup. Marquis Wright paced the contest with 21 points off 7-of-16 shooting and a 7-for-8 mark from the free throw line. He was one of four Saints to finish in double figures, with Javion Onqunyemi picking up the game's only double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Lavon Long and Brett Bisping each added 13 points in the victory.

Radford and Prairie View A&M will face off in Saturday's 4 p.m. consolation game.

BULLDOGS HOST 2K CLASSIC SUBREGIONAL THIS WEEKEND
The 21st annual 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project comes to Smithfield, R.I. this weekend. The in-season tournament opened last weekend when the Bulldogs faced regional round host No. 5/4 Duke. Bryant will also face regional host Georgetown on Nov. 28 in Washington, D.C.

The Black and Gold will play host to the tournament's Smithfield Subregional Round, which features Bryant, Prairie View A&M, Radford and Siena. The four teams will play a pair of doubleheaders this weekend at the Chace. Two more Regional Round hosts – national runner-up Wisconsin and NCAA tournament participant VCU – also join the 2K Classic field.
