Bulldogs earn No. 5 seed, open @NECBBT at SFU Wednesday night (7p)

NEC MEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT HEADQUARTERS

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's basketball team earned the No. 5 seed in the upcoming 2017 Northeast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament, and will visit fourth-seeded Saint Francis U. for a quarterfinal game at DeGol Arena Wednesday, March 1 at 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday's game will be streamed live and free of charge on NECFrontRow.com. The winner will advance to Saturday's semifinal and the title game will be Tuesday, March 7 on ESPN2.

The Bulldogs are making their fourth appearance in the NEC Tournament in the last five years, but will be playing a road quarterfinal game for the first time. Bryant's only road postseason game at DI level came in 2015 when they traveled to Robert Morris for a semifinal contest. The Bulldogs are 1-3 all-time in the NEC Tournament.

Bryant and Saint Francis U. will be meeting for the second time in the postseason. The Bulldogs and Red Flash met in the quarterfinals in 2014, a 55-54 win for SFU in Smithfield. This season, the two teams split their two regular season meetings with each team winning on its own home court.
