Bulldogs to participate in 2017 Gotham Classic, set to take on Louisville, Memphis as part of five-team field

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After last appearing in the field in 2013, the Bryant University men's basketball team will return to the Gotham Classic in 2017-18 and will take on national powers Louisville and Memphis as part of the five-team tournament that stretches through December.

The Bulldogs will also play Albany and Siena as part of the fifth-annual Gotham Classic, with all five programs facing off against each of the others. Bryant, Albany and Siena will each host one home game while all three will take on the Cardinals and the Tigers on the road.

Bryant will open Gotham Classic action Dec. 6 at Albany before traveling south to take on powerhouses Memphis and Louisville on Dec. 9 and 11, respectively. The Black and Gold will then wrap up tournament play Dec. 17, hosting MAAC member Siena at the Chace Athletic Center.

Headliners Louisville and Memphis will matchup at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 16 at 12 p.m.

The full 2017-18 Bryant men's basketball schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
