Bulldogs add Harding, Hernandez, Roberts for 2018-19

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University head men's basketball coach Tim O'Shea has announced the signing of three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2018-19 season.

Patrick Harding (Fairfield, Conn.), Nino Hernandez (Gardner, Mass.) and Anthony Roberts (Detroit, Mich.) make up the signing class that will join the Bulldogs next summer.

"It's one of the better classes coming in that I've seen on paper," said head coach Tim O'Shea. "It's a good class in terms of fundamentals, skill level and what they've already accomplished in high school. They've all made their mark at the high school level, and in the case of Patrick and Nino, they're going to do so at the prep school level as well before they join us as freshmen."

Patrick Harding | F | 6-9 | 225 | Fairfield, Conn./Suffield Academy
Playing a prep year at Suffield Academy in 2017-18 after four years at Fairfield Prep in Connecticut … Fairfield Prep team went 92-11 in Harding's four seasons, advanced to at least the state semifinals in all four years and won a state title in his sophomore year in 2014-15 … 1,000-point scorer … Two-time all-state and all-conference selection … Mother played tennis at UConn.
O'Shea on Harding: "He has excellent size and is a tremendous passer for a big guy. He can really pass, which separates him from a lot of kids. He has a really good, high fundamental skill level. His upside is excellent. He played for an excellent AAU team with the Middlesex Magic. We see him as an impact freshman in the frontcourt."

Nino Hernandez | G | 6-4 | 205 | Gardner, Mass./Winchendon School
Attending Winchendon School after three seasons at Gardner (Mass.) High School … Second-team all-state during the 2016-17 season at Winchendon … Named second-team NEPSAC Class C last season .. Teammate of the Bulldogs' Dren Dedushaj at Winchendon last year.
O'Shea on Hernandez: "He's a true big guard. He's 6-4, very strong, can play multiple positions and is an excellent competitor. He's a kid we feel has been a little bit under the radar, but we feel he'll have an impact right away."

Anthony Roberts | G | 6-4 | 190 | Detroit, Mich./Henry Ford
Transferred to Henry Ford from Western International, where he won a state championship as a freshman and a district championship as a sophomore … Averaged 17 points per game as a junior … First Michigan native in Bryant's Division I era.
O'Shea on Roberts:
"He can play the point guard position or the off-guard position. He's a proven scorer. He comes from a really tough league and is well-coached. He's a big guard – legitimately 6-4. He's going to give us a look in the backcourt that we really haven't had in terms of size. A lot of upside, but he's a natural scorer."
