Bryant continues Gotham Classic Saturday at Memphis on ESPN3

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Bryant University men's basketball team continues the Houzz Gotham Classic Presented by TicketIQ with a trip to Memphis Saturday on ESPN3.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Memphis is 5-2 on the year with three of those victories coming by two points or less. The Tigers rank 17th in the nation entering the weekend with 14.0 offensive rebounds per game. 

Jeremiah Martin leads three Tigers averaging double figures in scoring with 16.9 points per game. Kyvon Davenport has added 13.6 points and a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game.

THE SERIES
Bryant and Memphis are meeting for the first time Saturday. The Tigers are the second current member of the American Athletic Conference the Bulldogs have faced, as Bryant is 0-2 in the Division I era against UConn. 

LAST TIME OUT: ALBANY 84, BRYANT 68
Freshman Brandon Carroll (Brewster, N.Y.) tallied a career-high 15 points and junior Taylor McHugh (Centreville, Va.) added a season-high 11 Wednesday at Albany. Freshman Ryan Layman (Wrentham, Mass.) collected a career-high nine rebounds. 

RESERVES SEE INCREASED ROLES AT ALBANY
Freshman Brandon Carroll made his first-career start Wednesday at Albany, scoring 15 points and adding five rebounds and three steals. Junior Taylor McHugh recorded a season-high 11 points, while sophomore Tanner Johnson (Lexington, Ky.) played 14 minutes off the bench and hit his first three-pointer of the year. 

WE LIKE IKE
Sophomore Ikenna Ndugba (Boston, Mass.) is averaging 15.9 points per game over his last seven contests with at least 15 points in five of seven. Ndugba has scored at least 20 points in two of his last three games, including 22 to match his career-high at New Hampshire (12/2). 

Ndugba passed Alex Francis for fourth in Bryant's Division I era in assists in Wednesday's game at Albany with 174 for his career.

IMMEDIATE IMPACT
Freshman Ryan Layman has recorded six or more rebounds in six of his first nine collegiate contests, including a career-high nine Wednesday at Albany. Layman tallied a career-high 14 points at NC State (11/14) - his first career start. 

MR. STEAL YOUR PASS
Sophomore Ikenna Ndugba ranks 42nd in the nation as of Thursday with 2.2 steals per game, good for third in the NEC.
