Carroll named NEC Rookie of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University men's basketball redshirt-freshman Brandon Carroll (Brewster, N.Y.) has been named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending Feb. 11, as announced Monday by the NEC office.

Carroll had a breakout week for the Bulldogs, as he put up career-bests with 25 points and 12 rebounds in a nationally televised game at Wagner Thursday. The performance was Carroll's first-career double-double.

The 6-7 forward followed Thursday's showing with 23 points and eight rebounds in Saturday's 79-77 win over Mount St. Mary's. For the week, Carroll averaged 24.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game while shooting 70.8 percent from the field.

Bryant is back in action Thursday when the Bulldogs travel to Robert Morris. The 7 p.m. game will be played at Duquesne University's A.J. Palumbo Center and can be seen on NEC Front Row.
