Grasso signs Big Ten transfer Peter Kiss

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University head men's basketball coach Jared Grasso has announced the addition of Peter Kiss (New York, N.Y.) to the program for the 2020-21 season.

"Peter is a veteran who was an all-rookie selection as a freshman in the MAAC and a starter as a sophomore in the Big Ten," said Grasso. "His toughness and athleticism will give us an added dimension on both sides of the ball. We're excited to add another competitor who fits the culture of character and work ethic that we are trying to build at Bryant."

Kiss joins the Bulldogs as a transfer from Rutgers, where he played in 32 games over two seasons in Piscataway. The 6-5 guard made 12 starts in 2018-19 and averaged 6.0 points per game with seven games in double figures, including a season-high 17 points against Fairleigh Dickinson.

In his first collegiate season at Quinnipiac, Kiss averaged 13.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game on his way to unanimous MAAC All-Rookie Team honors. Kiss shot 40.8% and scored in double figures in 17 of 21 games against MAAC competition, earning Rookie of the Week accolades four times.

Kiss completes a signing class for Grasso that includes Erickson Bans (Pawtucket, R.I.), Chris Childs (Bronx, N.Y.), Melo Eggleston (Suitland, Md.), Darius Guinn (Portland, Ore.)Luis Hurtado (Merida, Venezuela), Joe Moon IV (Westland, Mich.) and Luke Sutherland (Syracuse, N.Y.).
