Kiss, Green III earn All-NEC honors

SOMERSET, N.J. – The Bryant University men's basketball team landed a pair on the All-Northeast Conference teams that were announced on Friday afternoon by the league office.

Redshirt senior Peter Kiss was selected to the first team, while sophomore Michael Green III was a second-team honoree.

Kiss becomes just the fourth Bulldog in DI program history to earn All-NEC First Team honors. He joins Nisre Zouzoua (2017), Dyami Starks (2015) and Alex Francis (2013, 2014) after he averaged 17.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.0 steals in 19 starts this year. Kiss produced 10 20-point games, shooting 50 percent from the field, 44 percent from three and 84 percent from the line. He joins Francis as the only players in DI program history to average 17+ ppg and 6+ rpg in a season and is the first Bulldog since Zouzoua in 2017 to average 17+ ppg. Kiss became the first Bulldog in DI program history to record a triple-double when he finished with 12p, 13r and 10a against Central Connecticut on Jan. 7.

Green III is just the fifth Bulldog to ever earn All-NEC Second Team honors, joining Adam Grant (2020), Dan Garvin (2015), Dyami Starks (2013, 2014) and Cecil Gresham (2011). He averaged 16.7 ppg, 4.0 rpg and 3.9 apg on the year. Green III registered six 20-point games, including a career-high 33 in the Black and Gold's victory at UMass. A Lou Henson Award midseason watch list selection, Green III finished the regular season ranked seventh in the NEC in scoring, sixth in assists and 11th in free throw percentage. Green III became the only Bulldog in DI program history to record 20+ points and 10+ assists in a game when he did so on Dec. 17 vs. Wagner.

The second-seeded Bulldogs host third-seeded Sacred Heart in the first of two NEC Semifinals on Saturday, March 6. Tip between the Bulldogs and Pioneers is set for 12:00 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN3, NECFrontRow, Cox/Yurview and NBC Washington.
