Bryant No. 23 in College Insider Preseason Mid-Major Top 25

BOSTON - The Bryant University men's basketball team has been ranked No. 23 in the College Insider Preseason Mid-Major Top 25 announced on Tuesday.

Bryant is the lone team from the America East in the top 25 and joins Iona and Hofstra as the only teams from the Northeast in the preseason rankings. The Bulldogs are ranked in the preseason mid-major top 25 for the first time in program history.

The Black and Gold had a record year in 2021-22, winning 22 games on their way to NEC Regular Season and Tournament Championships. Bryant advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time at the Division I level, falling to Wright St. in the First Four.

This season, the Bulldogs welcome nine new members to a squad that will compete in the America East. Leading the way will be senior Charles Pride, a Jerry West Award watch list selection. The Syracuse, N.Y., native returns after posting 17.7 ppg and leading all guards in the country with 8.6 rebounds per game. Pride will be joined by returners Tyler Brelsford, Erickson Bans and Jone Moon IV, and a bevy of talent, including transfers Earl Timberlake (Memphis), Doug Edert (St. Peter's), Antwan Walker (URI), Kvonn Cramer (Hofstra), Sherif Gross-Bullock (La Salle), Miles Latimer (Bucknell) and Chauncey Hawkins (St. Francis Brooklyn) and Tay Mosher (East Carolina). Todd Rochelle is the lone true freshman on the roster.

Bryant opens its fifth season under head coach Jared Grasso on Monday, November 7 against Thomas College (Maine). Grasso has guided the Black and Gold to a 62-54 record in four seasons.

Season tickets are now available for the reserved premium seating at the Chace Athletic Center. Tickets can be purchased at BryantBulldogs.com/Tickets.
