THE SERIES
Bryant and UMBC are meeting for the first time in program history on Sunday.

WELCOME TO THE AMERICA EAST
Bryant has opened its first season in the America East with a 1-1 record. On Sunday, the Black and Gold will face a UMBC team that made history a few years ago, becoming the first No. 16 seed to defeat a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament when it knocked off Virginia.

MR. DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Earl Timberlake posted his second-straight double-double and his team-high fifth of the year on Thursday night at Vermont. Timberlake finished with 17 points and a season-high tying 13 rebounds. He has posted a double-double in three of Bryant's last four games.

FIVE MORE THINGS TO KNOW

  1. Bryant is 10-5 overall and 1-1 in league play following a 74-64 loss at Vermont on Thursday night. The Bulldogs have not lost back-to-back league games since February of 2020.
  2. Led by Sherif Gross-Bullock, the Black and Gold feature four the top 12 scorers in the America East entering Thursday. Ear Timberlake (2nd), Charles Pride (8th) and Antwan Walker (11th) are all averaging over 13.0 ppg.
  3. Walker added his fourth double-double of the season and the ninth of his career on Thursday at Vermont. He posted 13 points and a season-high 13 rebounds. Walker is now averaging career-highs in both ppg and rpg this season.
  4. Gross-Bullock remains first in the America East in scoring with 16.7 ppg. The Washington, D.C., native has scored in double-figures in 14 of Bryant's 15 games this season.
  5. Bryant is 5-1 at home this season and 29-3 at home since the start of the 2020-21 campaign.
