Bulldogs fall at Binghamton on Saturday

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Bryant University men's basketball team fell to Binghamton University, 84-67, on Saturday afternoon at the Events Center.

Bryant falls to 13-8 overall and 4-4 in America East play with the loss. The Bulldogs and Bearcats split a pair of meetings this season.

Charles Pride paced the Bulldogs with 17 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Earl Timberlake chipped in 10 points, four boards and three assists, while Antwan Walker added 12 and six. Doug Edert and Chauncey Hawkins IV each finished with eight.

How it Happened

• Bryant scored the opening basket on Saturday but the Bearcats controlled the opening eight minutes.
• Leading 8-7, the Bearcats ripped off a 14-3 run to make it 22-10 at the 12:14 mark.
• The Bearcats would build the lead to 29-13 with 8:56 left in the first half.
• Bryant was able to push back, cutting the deficit to 12, 41-29, with 2:40 left.
• Hawkins sparked the Bulldogs with a three from the wing, while Timberlake and Edert both finished strong inside.
• Timberlake was able to finish at the rim to make it 10-point game with under 1:30 left but the Bearcats were able to push the lead back to 15 with 36.1 seconds left.
• A pair of free throws from Walker made it a 13-point deficit, 49-36, at the half.
• Bryant came out strong in the second half, cutting the deficit to eight momentarily on a deep Edert three.
• The Bearcats remained ahead by 10, 55-45, at the under-16 media.
• Binghamton, however, scored the next seven points, including a banked in three, to take a 62-45 lead with 12:45 left.
• The Bearcats extended the lead to 19, 70-51, with 7:37 left. Harried and Petcash both hit pull-up jumpers to help the Bearcats extend.
• Binghamton would hold a double-digit lead for the remainder of the contest despite a pair of deep threes for Pride.
