Bulldogs fall to BU on Thursday night

BOSTON – Boston University made 14 three-point field goals and hold off a late rally from the Bryant University men's basketball team, earning a 95-79 victory at Case Gymnasium on Thursday night.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 1-3 on the season. Bryant has a quick turnaround as it faces No. 10 Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

Sherif Gross-Bullock led all scorers with 28 points on 8-of-14 shooting. Rafael Pinzon finished with a career-high 21 points, while Earl Timberlake posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

How it Happened

  • BU got off to a quick start, scoring the first seven points of the game.
  • Tyler Brelsford stunted the run as he swished a corner three off a cross-court feed from Gross-Bullock.
  • With Bryant trailing, 13-8, Pinzon helped turn the tide for the Black and Gold, pouring in 14 of Bryant's next 16 to make it 24-21 with 10:55 to go in the first half.
  • Pinzon scored at all three levels, knocking down a three, hitting a pair of 12-foot jumpers and finishing at the rack. He would make his first seven shots without a miss.
