Bryant hosts Howard Monday night at The Chace

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's basketball team returns to the Chace Athletic Center on Monday night when it hosts Howard University. Tip is set for 7:02 p.m.

Bryant is coming off a historic win over No. 10 Florida Atlantic on Saturday night in Boca Raton, Fla. The victory was the Bulldogs' first over a ranked opponent at the Division I level.

THE SERIES
Bryant and Howard are meeting for the first time in program history. The Bulldogs and Bison have met in football and men's and women's soccer. 

BRYANT KNOCKS OFF NO. 10 FAU
Bryant pulled off one of the biggest upsets in program history on Saturday night, ending 10th-ranked Florida Atlantic's 19-game home winning streak with a 61-52 victory. The Bulldogs were facing a veteran group that advanced to the 2023 Final Four. Bryant held FAU to just 5-of-30 from three. Sherif Gross-Bullock and Earl Timberlake paced the upset as each finished with a double-double.

Sherif Gross-Bullock has led Bryant in scoring four times this season, entering Monday with a team-leading 19.6 ppg. He was locked in at FAU on Saturday, scoring 19 points and finishing with 11 rebounds for his third-career double-double. 

TIMBERLAKE SEEING DOUBLE
Earl Timberlake enters Monday night averaging a double-double with 10.8 ppg and 10.6 rpg. The senior from Washington, D.C., has posted consecutive double-doubles and three total. On Saturday, Timberlake posted 13 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals.    

FIVE MORE THINGS TO KNOW

  1. Bryant had been 0-10 and lost by an average of 28.8 ppg against ranked opponents prior to Saturday night. 
  2. Sherif Gross-Bullock had a great two-game road swing, scoring 28 points at BU on Thursday and 19 more at FAU on Saturday. He has led the team in scoring four times this year.   
  3. In addition to his double-doubles, Timberlake has been an incredible facilitator this season, entering Monday with 4.8 apg and a 2.67 A:TO ratio.
  4. Daniel Rivera finished in double-figures again at FAU, scoring 12 points. He enters Monday averaging 10.8 ppg and 6.4 rpg.  
  5. Rafael Pinzon gives Bryant four regulars in double-figures with 13.6 ppg. He scored a career-high 21 at BU last Thursday before finishing with 10 at FAU.
