Bryant faces Siena Wednesday night in Albany

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's basketball team continues its five-game road trip on Wednesday when it travels to Albany, N.Y., to face MAAC foe Siena.

THE SERIES
Bryant and Siena are meeting for just the second time in program history. In 2015, Siena defeated Bryant 78-59 in the championship game of the 2K Classic Subregional at the Chace Athletic Center. Hunter Ware led Bryant with 17 points in that contest.      

BRYANT KNOCKS OFF NO. 10 FAU
Bryant pulled off one of the biggest upsets in program history on Saturday night, ending 10th-ranked Florida Atlantic's 19-game home winning streak with a 61-52 victory. The Bulldogs were facing a veteran group that advanced to the 2023 Final Four. Bryant held FAU to just 5-of-30 from three. Sherif Gross-Bullock and Earl Timberlake paced the upset as each finished with a double-double. 

RIVALRY WON
Bryant picked up a rivalry victory on Friday, defeating Brown 69-66. The Bulldogs trailed by 10, 47-37, in the second half but battled back to earn the win. Miles Latimer provided a big spark, scoring all of his season-high nine points in the final 9:57. 

BLOCK PARTY
Bryant enters Friday ranked 8th nationally with 6.4 blocks per game. The Bulldogs have blocked 6+ shots in all but two games this season. Bryant blocked a season-high shots at Brown.   

FIVE MORE THINGS TO KNOW

  1. Bryant has limited five of its seven Division I opponents under to less than 70 points. Bryant is 3-2 in those games.  
  2. Sherif Gross-Bullock is averaging a team-best 18.0 ppg. He has scored in double-figures in all but one game this season.   
  3. Earl Timberlake has done a little bit of everything this year, entering Wednesday averaging 11.7 ppg, 9.6 rpg and 4.6 apg. He has five games with 10+ rebounds and has flirted with a triple-double on two occasions. Timberlake posted his fourth double-double of the season at Brown, finishing with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks.   
  4. Rafael Pinzon is second on the team with 12.8 points per game. He is shooting 44 percent from three, making 17-of-39 from beyond the arc.   
  5. Connor Withers is averaging 6.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.8 apg, 0.9 bpg and 1.1 spg. He posted nine points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks at Brown.
