Bryant set to host New Hampshire Thursday night

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's basketball team is back at the Chace Athletic Center Thursday night, hosting New Hampshire. Tip is set for 7:00 p.m.

THE SERIES
Bryant owns a 9-5 lead in the all-time series with New Hampshire. The Bulldogs earned an 89-74 victory over New Hampshire on Jan. 13 in Durham. Daniel Rivera scored a career-high 25 points and Sherif Gross-Bullock added 21 in the victory. Bryant is 5-1 vs UNH at the Chace Athletic Center.           

NATIONAL RANKINGS
Bryant enters Saturday ranked third nationally with 6.4 blocks per game and 12th nationally in field goal percentage defense (39.4 percent).   

GOOD GRIEF, REEF
Sherif Gross-Bullock became just the third player in DI program history to record 40+ points in a game when he scored a career-high 41 at UMBC on Jan. 6. SGB was just as good at home vs the Retrievers, scoring 35 points on an efficient 11-of-14 night from the field. Gross-Bullock ranks second in the league with 19.4 ppg thanks to 10 20-point efforts. He now has three career games of 35+ points, one shy of Peter Kiss' program record of four. 

FIVE MORE THINGS TO KNOW

  1. SGB enters Saturday ranked 18th nationally with 3.1 threes per game thanks to a career-high tying seven vs UMBC last Thursday. Gross-Bullock is averaging 22.6 ppg in America East play.  
  2. Timberlake enters Thursday with one of the league's best overall stat lines, averaging 14.2 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 4.3 apg, 1.5 bpg and 1.3 spg. He ranks second in the league with nine double-doubles and is averaging 16.4 ppg and 9.1 rpg in conference play.    
  3. Daniel Rivera is averaging 13.3 ppg, 8.8 rpg and 2.8 bpg in league play. Rivera had a strong game against the Wildcats in January, going for a career-high 25 points on 11-of-18 shooting. He added nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks.    
  4. Doug Edert is averaging 6.7 ppg over his last three outings and enters Thursday night just two points shy of 1,000 for his career. Edert posted 725 points in three seasons at Saint Peter's. 
  5. Starting Thursday, Bryant will play five of its final eight games at the Chace Athletic Center. Bryant is 6-2 at home this season.
