PYNE, SWEITZER NAMED NORTHEAST CONFERENCE CO-GOLFERS OF THE WEEK

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- After finishing the Coca-Cola Intercollegiate tied for 10th overall in the 62-golfer field, Bryant University senior Mike Pyne (Foxboro, Mass.) and rookie Spencer Sweitzer (Lunenburg, Mass.) were selected as the Northeast Conference Co-Golfers of the Week, each earning his first-ever conference honor.

Pyne and Sweitzer led the Bulldogs to a fifth-place team finish with their dual scores of 228, tying for 10th overall at the Savannah, Ga. tournament. 

Pyne hit a 75 in the first round of action to place him among the leaders and he stayed there after rounds of 77 and 76 for a final score of 228, 12 over parto earn his first NEC Golfer of the Week selection of the 2009-10 season.

Sweitzer came back from a Round One 81 to record rounds of 73 and 74, vaulting him back near the top of individual standings to finish with a 228 of his own in the 62-golfer field. This is the freshman’s first NEC Golfer of the Week honor.
