THRESHER EARNS FOURTH NORTHEAST CONFERENCE GOLFER OF THE WEEK ACCOLADE

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- For the fourth time on the 2009-10 season, Bryant University golfer Jason Thresher (West Suffield, Conn.) has been named the Northeast Conference Golfer of the Week, this time following his first-place finish in last weekend's River Hawk Invitational.

The senior took the top spot in a tournament for the third time this year, winning the overall individual gold with a two-round score of 145. Thresher won out in the field of 75 golfers, shooting a 72 in round-one action and following it up with a second-round 73. Thresher's top individual performance led the Bulldogs to a first-place team finish in the weekend tournament as well.

Thresher now has five top-3 finishes and six top-10 finishes so far on the 2009-10 season and has earned four NEC Men’s Golfer of the Week nods, besting the total of all other weekly award winners.

The Bulldogs return to the course Saturday and Sunday (April 24-25) for the Northeast Invitational hosted by URI.
