THRESHER EARNS SECOND-CONSECUTIVE GOLFER OF THE WEEK HONOR, FIFTH OF 2009-10 SEASON

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior Jason Thresher (West Suffield, Conn.) shot a first-round 75 at the rain-shortened Northeast Invitational last Saturday en route to a fourth-place individual finish and was awarded for another stellar outing, earning his second Northeast Conference Golfer of the Week selection in as many weeks as well as an unprecedented fifth weekly honor on his 2009-10 season.

Thresher’s 75 was good to tie him for fourth overall in the 58-golfer field and paced the Bulldogs to a fourth-place team finish. The senior ended his round just three strokes behind the eventual winner, and the finish marked his sixth top-5 performance of the season.

One of the top golfers to ever pass through the storied Bryant program, Thresher wraps up his collegiate career April 30 through May 2 as the team competes in the Northeast Conference Championship in ChampionsGate, Fla.
