SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Bryant University gold team in back in action this weekend, ready to compete at the New England Championships April 9-10 in Newport, R.I.

The Bulldogs have had a month off since last hitting the links at the Cocal-Cola Invitational in Savannah, Ga., but have been training hard and are ready to resume live action Saturday in their own backyard.

The 2010-11 season has been another strong one for the Black and Gold on the course, having three top-10 finishes. The team is led by senior Alex Daley (Hudson, Mass.), who is wrapping up his collegiate career in style so far, helping lead the Bulldogs to a fifth-place finish at the Coca-Cola Invitational to earn Northeast Conference Golfer of the Week accolades the week of March 13, his second weekly award of the 2010-11 campaign.

Bryant finished eighth in the 2010 New England Championship, led by the now-graduated Jason Thresher ('10), who finished the two-day tournament tied for 23rd overall. The Bulldogs will compete next in the URI Ram Invitational on April 21-23.
