Bulldogs Remain in 14th after Round 2 of the NCAA Tournament

The Bryant University men's golf team stayed consistent and shot a team score of 316 in Round 2 of the NCAA tournament in Columbia, Missouri on Friday.  The Black and Gold received a strong performance from Joe Walp (Portland, Maine) on Day 2, who was able to improve his Day 1 score of 82 by four stokes with a 78.  Sam Russell (Southborough, Mass.) also picked up where he left off by shooting a 78 and finishing +11 through two rounds of play. 

NEC first-team All-Conference selection Kyle Buschmann (East Haddam, Conn.) carded a 79 and finished tied for 69th through 36 holes of play.  Zach Garbacik (South Hadley, Mass.) and Ryan Tombs (Bedford, N.H.) rounded out Bryant's starting five with individual scores of 82 and 81 respectively. 

Team-wise, Oklahoma State and Arkansas sit atop the leaderboard with 36-hole scores of 559.  Missouri, LSU, and Arizona State round out the top-5 in team standings with 36-hole scores of 561, 575, and 576 respectively.  Individually, Hunter Kraus of Missouri leads all golfers with a two-day score of 137, good for seven under par. 

The Bulldogs play in the final round of the tournament tomorrow, May 17th, with the first Bryant golfer teeing off at 9:10 a.m.  For all news and information on the Bryant University golf team, visit BryantBulldogs.com.
