Piersall, Bryant take first in match with Brown and Holy Cross

SEEKONK, Mass. – Sophomore Nick Piersall (Portland, Conn.) earned individual medalist honors with an even-par 71 and the Bulldogs earned five of the top eight spots in the Bryant University golf team's match against Brown and Holy Cross Monday afternoon at Ledgemont Country Club.

The Bulldogs led the way with a team score of 291, 12 strokes better than Holy Cross. Bryant saw four golfers card a 74 or better in the final event of the fall.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Piersall led the way with a 71, one stroke better than Holy Cross' Joe Egan.
  • Freshmen Luke Carroll (West Hartford, Conn.) and Tyler Hahn (Avon, Conn.) each shot a 73, good for their spots in a four-way tie for third.
  • Sophomore Doug Champagne (Bow, N.H.) placed seventh out of 18 golfers with a 74 on the day, while freshman Peter Bowie (Asheville, N.C.) recorded a 76.
  • Junior Mario Wilson (Taunton, Mass.) posted a 79 on the afternoon.
