NO. 8 BRYANT CRUISES PAST AIC MEN?S LACROSSE 23-1

SPRINGFIELD MASS. – Brent Stoothoff (West Islip, N.Y.) totaled four goals and four assists to lead the eighth-ranked Bryant University men’s lacrosse team to a 23-1 win over American International College Thursday afternoon at John Homer Miller Field. Bryant wins its second straight to move to 3-1 and 2-0 in Northeast-10 play, while it marked the season opener for the Yellow Jackets.


Stoothoff was one of three Bulldogs with four goals as Andrew Serge
(Albany, N.Y.)
and Adam Smith (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) each had four markers. Jedd Storoshenko (Bayshore, N.Y.) had three goals for the visitors.

AIC took a 1-0 lead 2:27 into the contest when Preston Cicchine (Kitchener, Ontario) scooped up a ball in the Bryant crease and shoveled it home for the goal. Stoothoff would tie the game with 6:18 to play in the opening frame, with Smith recording the eventual gamewinner 1:43 later. Bryant would lead 6-1 after one period and 15-1 at halftime.

Matt Lovejoy (Thorton, Pa.) and Michael Kennedy (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) each played a half in goal for the guests and combined for one save.

Luke Legendre (Uxbridge, Mass.) made 17 saves for American International, going the distance.

Bryant will return to action Saturday, April 2, when they host No. 1 Le Moyne. Game time is set 1:00PM.
