Men's Lacrosse Places Four On All-Conference Team

BRYANT MEN'S LACROSSE PLACES FOUR ON NORTHEAST-10 ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

     SMITHFIELD, RI - The ninth-ranked Bryant University men's lacrosse team placed four student-athletes, including two freshmen, on the Northeast-10 All-Conference Men's Lacrosse team for 2006 the conference announced today. 

      Seniors Steve Coppinger (Bethesda, Md.) and Tim Duffany (East Falmouth, Mass.) were both named to the Northeast-10 First Team for 2006, joining freshman standout Andrew Hennessey (Wading River, NY) who also earned first team honors.  Fellow freshman Matt McKeefrey (Melville, NY) rounds out the 2006 honorees for the Bulldogs by earning Second Team All-Conference honors.

     Coppinger, a senior midfielder, has 14 goals in 15 games this season for the Bulldogs including three game-winners.  He scored three goals in the team's win over Saint Michael's back on April 22 and is currently third all-time in school history with 82 career goals and fourth with 124 career points. 

     Duffany, a preseason all-America selection, has been Bryant's defensive leader this season and is currently eighth all-time at Bryant with 149 career ground balls.

     Hennessey, a freshman midfielder, earned first team honors as a face-off specialist.  In 15 starts this spring, Hennessey has won 66.2 percent of all face-offs for the Bulldogs (206 of 311).  In addition, he has five goals and one assist. 

      McKeefrey has enjoyed tremendous success this season for the Bulldogs. The freshman attacker leads Bryant with 26 goals and 23 assists for a team-best 49 points.  He is currently ranked third in the Northeast-10 Conference with 1.3 assists per game and fourth with 3.21 points per game. McKeefrey scored four goals in the team's win at Pace back on March 23. 

     Bryant will travel to Merrimack College Wednesday afternoon for a Northeast-10 Conference semifinal game at Warrior Field (4 pm.).
