SMITHFIELD, RI - (May 30, 2008) -- Bryant University's Andrew Hennessey (Wading River, NY) and Matt Murnane (Rockville Centre, NY) were named to the 2008 United States Intercollegiate Coaches Association (USILA) All-America team after leading the Bulldogs to their best season in school history.

Hennessey, a sophomore who was named All-American as a freshman in 2006, missed all but one game due to injury in 2007 but returned to fine form as a specialist for the Bulldogs this spring.  Hennessey was arguably to best face-off specialist in the Northeast-10 Conference after posting the nation's second-best face-off win percentage in the country.

His 71.3 win percentage was second to only Adelphi's Jesse Corben.  Hennessey also finished eighth with 8.5 ground balls per game average.

Murnane, a sophomore defensive standout, has been one of the top defensive players for the Bulldogs the past two seasons.  Murnane started in all 18 games for the Bulldogs and finished ranked 35th nationally with 3.56 ground balls per game on the year.

Bryant concluded its final season of Division II play with a 14-4 record and berth in the NCAA tournament.  The Bulldogs begin Division I play starting this fall.
