JAMESON LOVE NAMED TO NEILA ALL-NEW ENGLAND SENIOR SCHOLAR-ATHLETE TEAM

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After wrapping up one of the most successful careers in Bryant University men's lacrosse history, senior captain and four-year starting goalie Jameson Love (Darien, Conn.) adds yet another honor to his collection – but this one is for more than just what he has accomplished on the field.

Love, the 2012 Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Year and NEC Tournament Most Valuable Player, has applied the same resolve in the classroom as he has on the field and has been recognized for those efforts by the NEILA, who named him among the 28 players selected to the 12th-annual Division I All-New England Senior Scholar-Athlete Team.

The New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Scholar-Athlete Team acknowledges graduating seniors from schools within the region who have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above and have also excelled on the field of play throughout their respective careers.

Love, who graduates as the program's all-time leader in saves with more than 650 in his career, is a three-time All-Northeast Conference selection, earning a first team nod in 2012 after leading the #19 Bulldogs (14-4) to the NEC Tournament Championship and the program's first-ever Division I national ranking. A three-time NEC Defensive Player of the Week pick in 2012 and 10-time pick over the last three years, the Connecticut native finished his career as the active NCAA Division I leader in both career saves and goalkeeper minutes.

A two-time captain, Love owns nearly every program goalkeeping record and has been the starter between the pipes in every Division I game for the Black and Gold. In 2012, the senior led the Northeast Conference in both goals against average (7.49) and save percentage (.602), where he ranks seventh and third in the nation, respectively. He also ranks in the country's top 10 in saves per game, where his 11.33 stops per outing are good for eighth among all DI netminders.

A two-time NEC Academic Honor Roll selection and Dean's List qualifier, Love has also remained one of the Bulldogs' top performers in the classroom and in the community, as well, all the while compiling an all-time record of 44-23 between the pipes.

"When I think of Jameson, I think of four years," said Bryant head coach Mike Pressler following the Bulldogs' 12-6 win over Mount St. Mary's to capture the school's first-ever Division I playoff title. "I've never had a four-year starter in the goal, and he has been my starter from that very first Division I game at Virginia when he was just a freshman all the way through to us being at Robert Morris to play Mount St. Mary's for the NEC title. He has been so remarkable, as a player and a captain, in so many ways, and he really put this team on his back. Of all the great captains and all the great players I've had in my 29 years, Jameson Love is right there at the top."

Love will graduate in 2012 with a degree in business and a concentration in finance.
