Waldt earns fourth ECAC accolade of 2015 season

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- After making 21 saves en route to being named the 2015 Northeast Conference Tournament MVP, Bryant University junior goalie Gunnar Waldt (Freeland, Md.) has earned his fourth ECAC Defensive Player of the Week honor of the spring.

Waldt turned in a 10-save performance to open tournament action against second-seeded Hobart April 30, guiding the Bulldogs to an 11-8 victory in Philadelphia. The junior captain was just as stellar in Saturday's NEC Championship Game against host and top-seeded Saint Joseph's, limiting the league's top offense to only six scores en route to a 10-6 victory and the team's fourth-straight NEC Tournament crown.

The Bulldogs now move on to their third-straight NCAA tournament appearance and will take on No. 20 Marist in the NCAA First Four May 6 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
