Bulldogs welcome 13-man Class of 2019 to roster

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University head coach Mike Pressler is pleased to announce the addition of 13 student-athletes to the Bulldog men's lacrosse program for the 2016 season.

The 13-member Class of 2019 hails from nine different states, representing a diverse group that adds depth for the Bulldogs across every position.

Two players each hail from New Jersey (Kevin Beimfohr, Matt Wujciak), New York (Jake Buonaiuto, Jake Miller), Connecticut (Luke Finneran, Will Hamernick) and California (Jack Horan, Kyle Rodney), while five more freshmen join the Black and Gold ranks from South Carolina (Ryan Cerino), Virginia (Kevin Quigley), Missouri (Gabe Remshardt), Massachusetts (Dan Cotnoir) and New Hampshire (Mike Vailas).

"We want to warmly welcome the Bryant Class of 2019 to Smithfield," said Pressler. "This is a deep class by position, it is a class filled with high school captains, and it's a class of many multisport athletes. Overall, we feel it's an outstanding class because of its versatility. This group also represents one of the best classes academically that we have recruited to Bryant to date."

Kevin Beimfohr | GK | 5-11 | 185 | Mountain Lakes, N.J. / Mountain Lakes
Before Bryant:
A 2015 graduate of Mountain Lakes High School, Beimfohr was a three-year varsity letterwinner and two-year starter in goal … Helped the team to three-straight NJSIAA Group 1 Sectional titles and back-to-back New Jersey state championships in 2013 and 2014 … Two-time first team all-state honoree (2014, 2015) … Two-time All-NJAC First Team selection (2014, 2015) … Named to the All-Gibbs First Team as a junior and senior … Also earned two varsity letters in football, where he helped his team to North 2 Group 2 New Jersey State Championships in 2013 and 2014 … Team also won NJAC Independence Conference titles in 2012, 2013 and 2014 … Honor Roll and Merit Roll student.

Jake Buonaiuto | A/M | 6-0 | 190 | Miller Place, N.Y. / Miller Place
Before Bryant:
A 2015 graduate of Miller Place High School, Buonaiuto was a four-year varsity letterwinner and three-year starter for the Panthers … Led team to three-straight league championships … Panthers won the county championship in 2013 … Honorable Mention All-American selection … Also played three years of varsity football, where he was named an all-state and all-Long Island selection.

Ryan Cerino | A | 6-0 | 190 | Greer, S.C. / Riverside
Before Bryant:
A 2015 graduate of Riverside High School, Cerino was a four-year varsity letterwinner and starter for the Warriors … Led team to three-straight regional championships (2012-14) … Three-year captain … 2015 US Lacrosse High School All-American … 2015 SCHSL First Team All-State … Four-time All-Region II 4A selection … All-Upper State pick in 2012, 2013 and 2015 … Became Riverside's all-time leading scorer with 286 career points … Also earned four varsity letters in football, where he captained the team as a junior and senior … Quarterbacked team to first-ever SCHSL 4A playoff appearance … National Honor Society member.

Dan Cotnoir | D | 6-0 | 200 | Longmeadow, Mass. / Longmeadow
Before Bryant:
A 2015 graduate of Longmeadow High School, Cotnoir was a three-year varsity letterwinner and starter for the Lancers … Led team to a Western/Central Massachusetts Championship as a senior and a state title as a sophomore, when the team went 25-0 … Lancers went to the state championship game in 2015 … Senior captain … 2014 First Team Western Massachusetts selection … Two-time Western Mass. Second Team pick (2013, 2015) … 2014 BostonLax First Team Defense honoree … Also ran varsity indoor track as a senior … Honors student.

Luke Finneran | A | 5-10 | 160 | Greenwich, Conn. / Avon Old Farms
Before Bryant:
A 2015 graduate of Avon Old Farms School, Finneran was a three-year varsity letterwinner and starter at Greenwich High School, where he graduated in 2014 … Helped Greenwich to a Connecticut Class L State Championship in 2014 … Won a Founders League Championship and Western New England Prep School title at Avon Old Farms in 2015 … 2014 High School All-America selection … 2014 UnderArmour All-American Underclass Division pick … 2014 first team all-state and all-conference pick … 2014 Blue Chip All-Star … 2014 National 175 All-Star … 2013 Outstanding Offensive Player award … Also earned three varsity letters in ice hockey, where he was a senior captain and team MVP … Also named a Second Team All-FCIAC and second team all-state selection.

Will Hamernick | M | 5-11 | 185 | Darien, Conn. / Darien
Before Bryant:
A 2015 graduate of Darien High School, Hamernick was a three-year varsity letterwinner and two-year starter for the Blue Wave … Led team to back-to-back FCIAC and state titles in 2014 and 2015 … 2014 all-state first team selection … 2014 All-FCIAC First Team pick … Also earned three varsity letters in football, where he helped the Blue Wave to an FCIAC Championship … Named a 2013 All-FCIAC East selection in football.

Jack Horan | D | 6-5 | 210 | San Rafael, Calif. / Marin Catholic
Before Bryant:
A 2015 graduate of Marin Catholic High School, Horan was a four-year varsity starter for the Wildcats … Led team to consecutive North Coast Section Championships in 2014 and 2015 and an MCAL title in 2015 … 2015 US Lacrosse High School All-American … Two-time All-MCAL First Team pick (2014, 2015) … Named a second team all-league selection as a sophomore … Also earned two varsity letters in football … Dean's List honoree … National Honor Society member.

Jake Miller | D | 6-0 | 185 | Schenectady, N.Y. / Niskayuna
Before Bryant:
A 2015 graduate of Niskayuna High School, Miller was a four-year varsity letterwinner and two-year starter for the Silver Warriors … Led team to four-consecutive Section 2, suburban council and regional championships … Helped Silver Warriors win a New York State Championship in 2015 … 2015 Section 2 All-Star … Senior captain … Defensive MVP … Also earned three varsity letters in hockey, where he served as captain as a junior and senior, and one varsity letter in football … Graduated with honors.

Kevin Quigley | M | 6-2 | 205 | Fairfax Station, Va. / South County Secondary

A 2015 graduate of Clayton High School, Remshardt was a four-year varsity starter for the Greyhounds … Led team to state playoffs in 2013, 2014 and 2015 … Three-time all-state selection (2013, 2014, 2015) … 2015 All-Metro First Teamer … 2013 and 2014 UnderArmour Underclass All-America pick … Three-time Most Valuable Offensive Player award winner.

Kyle Rodney | M | 6-2 | 185 | Concord, Calif. / De La Salle
Before Bryant:
A 2015 graduate of De La Salle High School, Rodney was a three-year varsity letterwinner for the Spartans … Helped team to a North Coast Section Championship in 2014 … Spartans won the EBAL title in 2013 … 2015 USA Today Northern California All-Star selection … Also played two years of hockey.

Mike Vailas | D | 5-11 | 180 | Bedford, N.H. \ Bedford
Before Bryant:
A 2015 graduate of Bedford High School, Vailas was a four-year letterwinner for the Bulldogs … 2015 High School All-American … New Hampshire Division I Defensive Player of the Year … Senior captain … 2014 all-state selection … Also a four-year varsity letterwinner in football, where he was named a Division I First Team All-State Defensive Back in 2014 … Senior captain in football … Honor Roll student.

Matt Wujciak | M | 6-0 | 180 | Essex Fells, N.J. / Delbarton School
Before Bryant:
A 2015 graduate of Delbarton School, Wujciak was a two-year varsity letterwinner and one-year starter for the Green Wave … Led team to back-to-back Morris County Championships … Team won Non-Public A State Championship in 2014 … Ran two years of winter track and earned a varsity letter in football as a senior … Honors student.
