Bryant set to face Boston U Saturday afternoon

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The No. 19 Bryant University men's lacrosse team travels to Boston to face the Terriers on Saturday afternoon. Faceoff is set for 4:00 p.m. 

Saturday's game will be streamed on ESPN+.

THE SERIES
Boston leads the all-time series between the two programs, 3-1. The Terriers won each of the first three meetings before the Bulldogs picked up a 15-10 victory in 2020. Marc O'Rourke paced the Black and Gold with five goals and two assists for seven points. 

SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
BU opened its season with a 12-10 victory over Merrimack last Saturday. Vince D'Alto scored three goals and added two assists for a five-point afternoon. D'Alto, Timmey Ley and Louis Perfetto combined to score 68 goals a season ago. 

BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • The Bulldogs opened the 2022 season with a convincing 19-7 victory over in-state rival Providence last Saturday. 
  • Bryant was ranked No. 19 in the USILA and Inside Lacrosse polls and No. 18 in the Nike/USA Lacrosse Magazine. 
  • Bryant is led by Coach Mike Pressler, who enters his 16th season on the Smithfield sidelines. He's posted a career record of 146-96 at Bryant.
  • Marc O'Rourke led the Black and Gold with two goals and three assists for five points. He is averaging 5.0 ppg over his last six games.
  • Luke Caracciolo returns for his fourth season between the pipes. In 2021 he won the NEC Tournament MVP and was named to the NEILA All-New England First Team. He has a career save percentage of .532 and is currently Bryant's all-time leader in saves per game with 12.17. He posted 15 saves in a victory last weekend. 
  • Aidan Goltz, Isaiah Davis and Bennett Abladian all recorded hat tricks for the Black and Gold last week. 
  • Jacob Alexander had a dominant week at the faceoff X, winning 20-of-29. He also added two goals and an assist.
