Bryant falls to Air Force on Saturday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Marc O'Rourke scored five times and Logan McGovern notched four assists but the Bryant University men's lacrosse team was defeated by Air Force, 16-10, on Saturday afternoon at the Conaty Indoor Athletic Center.

O'Rourke posted his third five-goal game of the year, giving him 131 goals and 185 points in his career.

Bryant and Air Force were tied 2-2 after the first quarter but the Falcons outscored the Black and Gold 5-1 in the second quarter.

  • Air Force took control of the game in the second quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs 5-1.       

How it Happened

  • The Falcons scored the first two goals of the game before the Black and Gold answered.
  • O'Rourke broke through first and Mason Drouin tied the game with 1:10 left in the quarter.
  • AFA then scored three quick goals to open the second quarter. The Falcons then scored the final two, including one with three seconds left.
  • Nathan Laliberte then helped changed the tide in the third quarter, winning five of the first six faceoffs. It helped Bryant score four of the first five goals of the second half.
  • Jon Miller turned a ground ball into a goal, Isaiah Davis tucked one home and O'Rourke intercepted a pass and potted into an open net to make it 8-7 with 10:15 to go.
  • Air Force, however, scored the next four goals to take a 12-7 lead with 2:19 left.
  • Bryant would pull within 12-9 but the Falcons outscored the Bulldogs 4-1 in the final period to hold on for the win.
