Bryant visits Quinnipiac on Saturday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's lacrosse team hits the road for the first time this season when it travels to Quinnipiac on Saturday afternoon. Faceoff is set for 1:00 p.m. in Hamden, Connecticut.

THE SERIES
Bryant leads the all-time series between the two schools, 3-2. The two teams haven't played since the 2013 season.    

SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
Quinnipiac is 2-0 to start the year following an 11-10 victory over No. 13 Brown last week. Justin Robbert, Dylan Donnery and Stevan Germain all have five goals on the year. 

BLEED BLACK AND GOLD
Saturday's matchup pits a pair of Bryant alums against their former team. Quinnipiac's head coach Mason Poli and top assistant Alex Zomerfeld are both Bryant alums. Poli was a two-time Tewarraton Award Trophy semifinalist, while Zomerfeld helped Bryant reach the 2014 NCAA Quarterfinals.

BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • The Bulldogs are 1-1 on the year following a 16-15 overtime loss to Boston U last Saturday.
  • Jack Lonsinger scored a Bryant freshman record seven goals last week vs BU. The seven goals are the second-most in a game in program history.
  • Lonsinger was named the America East Rookie of the Week and has 10 goals in the first two games.
  • Bryant has won the America East Rookie of the Week honor each of the last two weeks.
  • Kevin Groeninger has recorded nine points (3g, 6a) in two games this season.
  • Aidan Goltz notched a hat trick last week and has recorded seven points (5g, 2a) in two games.
