Hackett picks up fourth America East honor

BOSTON -- Bryant University men's lacrosse freshman Johnny Hackett was named the America East Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Hackett has now won the honor four times this season, the most of any player in the league. The Winnetka, Illinois, native was instrumental in Bryant's 17-13 victory over UMBC, scoring seven goals and finishing with eight points.

Hackett's seven goals tie teammate Jack Lonsinger for the most by a freshman in program history. The seven goals also came against a UMBC squad that was allowing just over seven goals per game entering the contest. Hackett now has 21 goals and six assists for 27 points.

Bryant hits the road this week for an America East contest at UMass Lowell on Saturday, March 25.
