Bryant hits the road to face NJIT on Saturday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's lacrosse team heads to NJIT on Saturday afternoon for an America East contest. Faceoff is set for 1:00 p.m.

THE SERIES
Bryant and NJIT are meeting for the first time in program history on Saturday.

SCOUTING NJIT
NJIT is 2-6 overall and 0-2 in America East play on the season. The Highlanders lost to Vermont (16-10) and Binghamton (17-16). Jack Bowie (15) and Owen Corry (14) lead the team in goals. Corry's added 10 assists for 24 points, ranking 12th in the league with 3.00 points per game. Liam Brown leads the league with 14.88 saves per game. 

BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • The Bulldogs are 6-2 for the first time in program history. The Bulldogs are also 2-0 in America East play. 
  • Bryant has started 2-0 in league play in each of the last two seasons.  
  • Bryant ranks 6th nationally with 15.13 goals per game. The Bulldogs scored a season-high 20 goals last week at UMass Lowell. 
  • Johnny Hackett won his league-high fifth America East Rookie of the Week honor on Monday. He notched six points (4g, 2a) in Bryant's win at UML.
  • Hackett now leads the team with 33 points (25g, 7a). He is the top scoring freshman in college lacrosse.
  • Jack Lonsinger ranks second in freshman scoring to Hackett, potting 24 goals (3.00 per game). 
  • Aidan Goltz, Kevin Groeninger and Timmy Hackett have all set career highs in points this year. Goltz has 27 points (20g, 7a), Groeninger has 32 points (16g, 16a) and Hackett has 27 points (12g, 15a).
