Men's Lacrosse travels to Manhattan for Saturday showdown

SMITHFIELD, R.I. –  The Bryant University men's lacrosse team will travel to take on Manhattan College on Saturday. Faceoff is set for 12:00 p.m.

THE SERIES
Bryant leads the all-time Division I series 5-1. They have won their last two matchups. In their last meeting, the Bulldogs picked up a 15-12 victory in the Conaty Indoor Athletic Center.

SCOUTING THE JASPERS
Manhattan enters Saturday 0-4 on the season after battling against ranked opponents earlier this season. Kelly DuPree and Scott O'Connor are tied for the team lead in goals with 5 a piece. Damien Blando leads the defense unit with 7 caused turnovers and goalie Connor Hapward has posted 54 saves so far this year.  

BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • For consecutive weeks, Bryant has ranked first in the nation in faceoff win percentage .712.

  • The Bulldogs lead the America East Conference in ground balls per game with 39.50.

  • John Tomsheck recorded his first career hat trick in last Saturday's game against Quinnipiac

  • Nathan LaLiberte remains first in the nation in ground balls per game and improves to second in faceoff win percentage.

  • In last year's game against the Jaspers, Jack Lonsinger and Johnny Hackett combined for eight goals.

  • Drew Lucas had an amazing outing against Manhattan last year as well, posting two points,three ground balls, as well as causing a turnover.
