Emard Scores 1st Collegiate Goal in 1-0 Win

Orangeburg, NY - The Bryant Bulldogs scored with under three minutes left in the first half and hung on for a 1-0 victory over host Dominican College this afternoon at the DC Soccer Field.

Bryant out shot Dominican 12-10 in a very physical game which saw four yellow cards given, two to each team and a combined total of 35 fouls. 

Freshman midfielder Ben Emard (Swansea, MA) scored his first collegiate goal after getting a rebound in front of the goal in the 42nd minute.

Bulldog keeper Thomas Madden (Saco, ME) had four saves in the shut out, improving his record to 5-0-2 this season. Madden now has four shutouts and a 0.79 goals-against average. 

Bryant (5-1-2) continues its roadtrip when they challenge fourth-ranked Franklin Pierce Saturday (7 p.m.).
