Smithfield, R.I. - Four different Bulldogs scored as the Men's Soccer team defeated St. Thomas Aquinas 5-1 Thursday afternoon at Bulldog Stadium.

Mike Gargiulo (North Branford, Conn.) led the way scoring twice and adding an assist, while freshman Alex Engel (Spencer, Mass.) tallied his first collegiate goal in just his second career match.

Gargiulo's first goal came in the 23rd minute as he put home a Nick Ballisterri (Glastonbury, Conn.) throw-in. Bryan Gravel (Londonderry, N.H.) notched the assist.

Manny Rodriguez (North Branford, Conn.) scored his sixth of the season eight minutes later scoring off a corner kick.

Cameron Scott (Altavista, N.Y.) made it 3-0 scoring his first goal of the season taking a Ryan Aspinall (Clinton, Conn.) pass and burying it past Spartan goaltender Michael Chappas.

After Michael Felix made it 3-1, Gargiulo tallied his second of the game and sixth of the season in the 80th minute, putting home a rebound.

Seven minutes later, Engel scored his first collegiate goal, as he took a Sam Grande (Herkimer, N.Y.) pass and dribbled the ball around Spartan goaltender Sean McEnery for the open-net tally.

With the win, the Bulldogs are now 7-5-3 (4-5-3 NE-10). They conclude the regular season Saturday night against AIC at 7 p.m. To qualify for the Northeast-10 Tournment, the Bulldogs must win, and Bentley and St. Anselm must lose their regular season finales.
