Gargiulo's OT Goal Gives Bryant Season-Opening 2-1 Win

Kaneohe, Hawaii - Senior co-captain Mike Gargiulo (North Branford, CT) scored the game-winning goal in overtime (102nd minute) to give the Bryant men's soccer team its first win of the season, 2-1 over Hawaii Pacific Friday afternoon in Hawaii.

Freshman Norbert Guery tallied his first collegiate goal in Bryant's 2-1 win (dspics.com)

Gargiulo punched in the loose ball after a Ryan Aspinall (Clinton, CT) shot was knocked down in front.

The Bulldogs got on the board first, as freshman Norbert Guery (Andover, MA) tallied his first collegiate goal, taking a pass from classmate Sean Kaukas (Glastonbury, CT) and firing it past Sea Warrior goaltender Sean Terry, who made five saves.

Bulldog netminder Tom Madden (Saco, ME) stopped eight shots, while picking up the win in net.

The Bulldogs (1-0, 0-0 NE-10) will round out their trip in Hawaii Saturday when they take on Chaminade University at 4 p.m. (10 p.m. EST).
