Tierney's Goal Leads Men's Soccer to 1-0 Win over Southern N.H.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Senior co-captain Kyle Tierney (Westborough, MA.) scored in the 78th minute to lead the Bryant men's soccer team to its second straight Northeast-10 conference win, 1-0, over Southern N.H. Saturday afternoon at Sutton Field.

Tierney put home a rebound off a Patrick Bedard (East Longmeadow, MA.) shot to finally break the scoreless tie with time winding down.

The Bulldogs had numerous opportunities to get on the board, including a cross bar hit by junior Manny Rodriguez (North Branford, CT) late in the first half.

The Bulldogs fired 13 shots, forcing Penmen goalie Dan Pelc to stop six shots. Bryant netminder Tom Madden (Saco, ME) stopped four shots for the clean sheet.

Bryant (4-1, 2-1 NE-10) will take on Dominican College in a non-conference match Monday at Bulldog Stadium at 3 p.m.
