Men's Soccer Blanks #25 Dominican College Monday
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant men's soccer team won its third straight match Monday afternoon, blanking Dominican College, ranked 25th nationally, 1-0 at Bulldog Stadium.
Ryan Aspinall (Clinton, CT) scored the only goal, his third of the season in the 18th minute. The sophomore put home a pretty crossing pass from freshman Sean Kaukas (Glastonbury, CT).
Aspinall's goal was enough for Tom Madden (Saco, ME) and the Bulldog defense as they held the Chargers to just five shots-on-goal. It was the second straight home shutout for Madden in three days.
The Bulldogs fired seven shots, six on goal, including two each from Manny Rodriguez (North Branford, CT) and Taylor Sabo (Scarborough, ME).
The Bulldogs (5-1, 3-1 NE-10) will take their second-ranked opponent in three days, as they head to UMass-Lowell, who is ranked fifth nationally, Wednesday (7 p.m.).
