BULLDOGS HOST 8TH RANKED MONMOUTH AT 3PM IN BULLDOG STADIUM

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Fresh off a 3-2 double overtime victory over Central Connecticut on Sunday, Oct. 11, the Bryant University men's soccer squad looks for another upset over the eighth ranked team in the country at 3 p.m. in Bulldog Stadium.

The Bulldogs improved to 3-9-0 overall and earned their first win in the NEC with the victory against the Blue Devils. The Bulldogs received goals from freshmen Sean Reilly (Monroe, N.Y.) and Mike da Fonte (Ossining, N.Y.), both their first-ever collegiate goals in the victory. The Blue Devils helped the Bulldogs and scored an own goal in the 62nd minute. Junior Sean Kaukas (Glastonbury, Conn) and Matt Brown (South Easton, Mass.) had the assists on the two freshman tallies. Brown was able to send a through-ball to da Fonte who beat the CCSU keeper to the left side for the game-winner in the 105th minute. Brown leads the Bulldogs with five total points on the year.

Monmouth (11-0-1, 3-0-1) enters the game as the talk of the Northeast Conference. The Hawks are currently ranked No. 8 in the nation and first in the region. They are one of three undefeated teams in the country and one of two with 11 wins. The Hawks are lead by junior Ryan Kinne, 16 points (6 goals, 4 assists) and freshman Ryan Clark, 13 points (5 goals, 3 assists). Monmouth is coming off a 2-0 victory over Long Island University.
