MEN’S SOCCER DROPS 3-0 DECISION TO QUINNIPIAC

HAMDEN, Conn. – Despite outshooting Quinnipiac in the second half, the Bryant men’s soccer dropped a 3-0 Northeast Conference decision Friday afternoon to drop to 2-9 overall and 0-3 in NEC play. The Bulldogs return to action Sunday hosting Central Connecticut at 3:30 pm.

Quinnipiac, led by Philip Surprise’s three goals, improves to 5-0-5 on the year and 2-0-1 in league play.

Surprise, a freshman, scored two in the first including the game-winner in the 13th minute after taking a shot from the left side of the box that Bulldog goalie Matt Miscione managed to get a hand on but the deflection found its way into the net to put the Bobcats up 1-0.

Suprise gave the Bobcats a 2-0 advantage in the 32nd minute with his second goal, beating Miscone who came out to challenge. He would complete the hat trick with his third of the game in the 65th minute, beating Victor Tutino who came on place of Miscione in the second half in goal. Bryant out-shot Quinnipiac 8-7 in the second but the Bobcats finished out-shooting the Bulldogs 17-11 in the game as Bryant managed just three in the first half.
