MEN'S SOCCER PLAYS CENTRAL CONNECTICUT TO SCORELESS TIE ON THE ROAD

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's soccer team battled rival Central Connecticut for 90 minutes of regulation and two overtime periods, but the defenses took over in the Northeast Conference matchup as the Bulldogs settled for a scoreless tie Sunday afternoon on the road.

The Bulldogs, who move to 4-6-2 on the season and 2-2-2 in the NEC, limited the Blue Devils to just four shots in 110 minutes of conference action with only two shots on target. With the double overtime draw, the Blue Devils are now 3-7-2 overall and 0-3-2 in the conference.

Bryant senior keeper Victor Tutino (Deer Park, N.Y.) recorded one save in net and moved to 4-6-2 on the season for his second straight shutout in as many games. Anthony Occhialini made a pair of stops in between the pipes for Central Connecticut.   

Senior Norbert Guery (Andover, Mass.) paced the Bulldogs offensively with three shots in the contest while senior Tom Nelan (East Haddam, Conn.) followed with a pair of strikes, one of which was on target.

The Bulldogs outshot the home team by a margin of 7-4 but lost the battle for corner kicks, 7-5.

The Black and Gold return to the pitch on Friday, Oct. 22 when they travel to Mont St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m.
