As a graduate student: Appeared in two games for the Bulldogs, earning one start ... Made Bulldog men's soccer debut against Monmouth on Oct. 9 ... Started in Bryant's season finale against Sacred Heart on Nov. 6 ... Named to the Northeast Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Undergraduate Career: Balestrieri received his undergraduate degree from Bryant in May 2011 and was a four-year tennis standout for the Bulldogs throughout his undergrad career (2007-2011). He will enroll in Bryant's Masters of Professional Accountancy in the fall of 2011.

As a senior: Named First Team All-Northeast Conference at second flight ... Posted a 17-8 overall record and 10-3 record at No. 2 singles ... Went 5-1 against NEC opponents ... 5-2 record at No. 1 singles ... Named NEC Player of the Week multiple times during the year ... As a junior: Named Second Team All-Northeast Conference in 2010 at No. 3 doubles with teammate Andres Orbotig ... Duo went a perfect 9-0 in doubles play together  ... Balestrieri has played at the No. 1 singles position in all 59 of 68 career matches where he owns a 38-30 overall record.

As a sophomore: He finished second at the Northeast Invitational Tournament hosted by Brown University and featuring the top Division I players from throughout the region ... During this  fall season, Balestrieri was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week with three victories at the Lehigh Invitational.

As a freshman: Balestrieri knocked off Rhode Island’s Henrik Almstrom in a dual match and a year later, Balestrieri swept all Northeast-10 Conference honors including 2008 Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year as well as earning First Team All-Conference at No. 1 singles ... Posted impressive wins over Brown's Luciano Musella in straight-set, 6-3, 6-3 as well as Quinnipiac's John Hughes and Dartmouth's Jeff Friedman and Villanova's Alex Leeser in fall ... Picked up impressive win over George Mason's Jorge Osuna during spring break trip ... Bounced back after dropping first set to defeat Quinnipiac's Brian Mikkelson at No. 1 singles.  

In the spring of 2010, Balestrieri was awarded the 2010-11 Beta Gamma Sigma scholarship for outstanding scholastic achievement.  The $1,000 scholarship, funded by Bryant University and Beta Gamma Sigma, is the highest national scholastic honor that can be achieved by a student in a business program accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (A.A.C.S.B.). 

To be eligible for membership, the academic ranking of those considered must be in the top 10 percent of second semester juniors, the top 10 percent of the senior class, or top 20 percent of the graduating master’s class. As the scholarship winner, Balestrieri will serve as one of the vice presidents of Bryant University’s Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma for the 2010-11 academic year and attend the Beta Gamma Sigma Leadership Conference in Tampa, Fla. in February, 2011. 

Before Bryant: Graduated in 2006 from Mar del Plata Day School (Argentina) as second in his class. Played Rugby for eight years representing his school.

Personal: Born January 4, 1989 in Mar del Plata, Argentina... Son of Salvador Balestrieri and Liliana Gallardo... Ranked as high as fifth in singles under 18 years old in Argentina in 2007... Coached by Cipriano Calvo and Daniel Izurieta... His biggest influence is Guillermo Vilas, former world number 1.
