Norat named NEC Player of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Behind his first-career hat trick on Sunday vs. Central Connecticut, junior forward Connor Norat (Wilmington, Del.) of the Bryant University men's soccer team was named the Northeast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week, announced the conference Monday afternoon.

Norat's first career weekly honor and the first Bryant men's soccer NEC Player of the Week could not have come at a better time as the junior's three-goal outburst in Sunday's 4-1 victory over the Blue Devils helped lift the Black and Gold into their first-ever NEC Tournament.

Norat opened the game scoring a header in the 21st minute and would strike again, converting a penalty kick to put the Bulldogs ahead for good in the 32nd minute.  He completed the hat trick with another tally in the 68th minute.

With the win on Sunday, the #3 seeded Bulldogs finish the regular season with a Division I program record seven wins, and will face off #2 Saint Francis U. on Friday in New Britain, Conn., in the NEC Tournament Semifinals. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
