Bleau-Prevost named NEC Rookie of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – On the heels of his first-career goal, redshirt freshman Zachary Bleau-Prevost (Boucherville, Quebec) of the Bryant University men's soccer team was named U-ADE/Northeast Conference Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week, announced the league Monday.

Bleau-Prevost scored the second of Bryant's two goals in Sunday's 2-1 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson to help the Bulldogs remain unbeaten (4-0-2) in NEC play. In a great individual effort, the redshirt freshman dribbled down the left side of the pitch and beat FDU keeper Matthew Weigner for the eventual game-winner.

With just one match remaining on their regular season slate, the Black and Gold have clinched their spot in the NEC Tournament and currently sit in second place in the NEC standings, one point behind Saint Francis U. The Bulldogs wrap up the regular season at Central Connecticut on Sunday as they try to capture the top spot in the standings and the right to host the NEC Tournament for the first time in program history.
