Norat claims NEC Player of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Behind his two-goal performance in Sunday's 2-1 double overtime victory at Central Connecticut, senior forward Connor Norat (Wilmington, Del.) of the Bryant University men's soccer team was named the U-ADE/Northeast Conference Player of the Week, announced league Monday afternoon.

Norat scored both goals in the Bulldogs' 2-1 double OT thriller Sunday afternoon in New Britain, Conn., to help Bryant clinch the No. 2 overall seed in the upcoming NEC Tournament. Norat broke a scoreless tie in the 24th minute when he finished off a header inside the box off a service from classmate Shane Murphy (Kennett Square, Pa.), before adding the game-winner in the 103rd minute off a PK.

The weekly honor is the senior's second of his career after garnering the award almost exactly a year ago coming off a hat trick performance in 2013's season finale victory over the Blue Devils.

Norat and the Bulldogs will return to action when they faceoff with #3 St. Francis Brooklyn in the NEC Tournament Semifinals at 6:30 p.m. in Loretto, Pa., for a chance to play for the NEC Championship for the second-straight season on Sunday.
