Bulldogs battle Broncs Sunday at 1 p.m.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Exactly one week after their first win of the season, the Bryant University men's soccer team returns to play against Rider Sunday afternoon at the Bulldog Soccer Field. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

The Broncs (3-2-0) have defeated the Bulldogs (1-2-2) in their last two matchups, winning last year, 3-0, in Lawrenceville, N.J.

Sophomore Thomas Binder (Vienna, Austria) scored the game winner against Buffalo last week, leading the Bulldogs to their first victory of the 2015 season. Binder also recorded two of five shots on net and looks to continue to compliment senior Brett Larocque (Ottawa, Ont.) up front. The fellow forward leads the Bulldogs' attack with five points off two goals and one assist.

Classmate Chris Knaub (Yarmouth, Maine) has been a force in the Bryant defense, gathering eight saves and only allowing two goals in the last three games. The keeper has also had a strong presence on opponent set plays, coming off his line to save or deflect the ball out of danger. The senior recorded his first shutout of the season in the team's win against Buffalo (Sept. 13). The clean sheet is the 10th of his career, making him the second goalie in program history to record double-digit shutouts.

Goalie David Pastuna has received four of the five starts for the Broncs, allowing six goals on 13 opponent attempts. Keeper Ryan Baird has seen time in two matches, starting one of them and raked in two saves for Rider.

The Broncs are led by midfielder Christian Flath, tallying eight points off two goals and four assists. Senior Florian Valot has found the back of the net on three of five shots on frame.

Action kicks off at 1 p.m. in Smithfield and fans can follow along with live stats at bryantbulldogs.com or watch the broadcast at necfrontrow.com.
